Entry Level Machinist/Apprentice


We are an established manufacturing company seeking to fill an apprentice/entry level position. A successful candidate should have basic knowledge of various manual machining processes, possess a strong mechanical aptitude, and have a sincere interest in developing a career as a machinist. Prior experience or technical training could propel a candidate to a higher starting level. This is a hybrid learning/production opportunity with plenty of time and effort spent on training. Opportunities for a candidate to move forward in the organization are limited only by ability and level of effort.


  • Show up on time prepared to work and learn.
  • Listen and follow precise instructions of best practices for machining our parts.
  • Make sure you become well versed in all aspects of safety regarding machinery and procedures in the shop.
  • Ask questions. If something is not clear ask.
  • Be prepared to build a collection of your own tools and measuring equipment.

We are looking for highly motivated, team-oriented individuals. All applicants must possess strong communication skills as well as blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities.

This is a full-time position that offers a competitive wage and benefits. We are looking for a Manual Machinist that can operate manual lathes, mills, drills, grinders and any other machine shop type equipment. You must be capable of working efficiently and effectively at any shift (days or swing) or weekends, including irregular and unscheduled hours; if required for a time sensitive project. The current opening for day shift works (5) eight hour shifts plus overtime if required. 

What you need:

  • Efficient at a high production level of quality parts
  • Knowledge in operation of all types of manual machines.
  • Strong understanding of blue prints and GDT drawings in order to produce parts that meet the specification of that drawing.
  • A strong understanding of decimal equivalent and fractional numbers. 
  • Able to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined. 
  • Must own all typical Machinist tools and Machinist Handbook
  • Must be able to perform complex machining operations with limited supervision


  • 5 plus years Manual Machinist work experience or equivalent
  • Technical Degree in manufacturing and or certification through accredited trade college preferred 
  • Measuring equipment of .001" or better tolerance tools preferred 
  • Abide by all company policies and exhibit good safety practices
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening with random screening throughout employment 
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required
